TK and Kindergarten After-School Program

Nurturing Growth Beyond the School Day

Help your TK or Kindergarten student continue their learning journey with Holding Hands Montessori’s Spanish bilingual TK and Kindergarten after-school program in Concord, CA! Our thoughtfully designed program extends the school day with meaningful activities that support academic growth, creative expression, and social-emotional development in a warm, nurturing environment.

Our after-school care reinforces and expands upon skills your child is developing during their regular school day. Through hands-on Montessori activities, children strengthen letter and sound recognition, deepen number sense, and build quantity-to-numeral connections. We create an engaging, interactive environment where continued learning in literacy and mathematics feels natural and joyful.

Beyond academics, we nurture the whole child. Music, dance, and mindfulness activities help children unwind from their school day while developing coordination, focus, and self-regulation. These activities encourage creative self-expression and strengthen social skills as children collaborate, share, and build friendships in our bilingual setting.

Perfect for Dual Immersion Families

If your child attends a Dual Immersion School (Holbrook or Bancroft Elementary), our program provides valuable continuity by reinforcing their Spanish language development. Our weekly Spanish-English rotation model supports true bilingual growth, helping maintain and strengthen the language skills they’re building during their regular school day.

What Your Child Will Experience

Each afternoon balances structured Montessori activities with free exploration, creating a peaceful transition from the traditional school environment. Our mixed-age approach allows preschool, TK, and Kindergarten students to learn from and mentor each other, fostering the collaborative spirit that defines authentic Montessori education.

Through our program, your child will continue developing essential skills including:

Academic Foundation:

Our Conscious Discipline Approach

We integrate the principles of Conscious Discipline, a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach that helps children build self-regulation, empathy, and problem-solving skills. After a full day of traditional schooling, children benefit from our nurturing environment where they can decompress, process their day, and continue growing in a supportive community.
